Verse of the Day
Our Beliefs
WE BELIEVE:
- In the holy Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and infallible in its truths. Rightfully divided, it is the rule and guide of faith for the Christian.
- In the one eternal LORD God expressed in the holy Trinity as Father, Son and Holy Spirit - the same yesterday and forever.
- In the creation of the heavens and the earth and its inhabitants by God's power through Christ.
- In the free will of men and the sovereignty of God.
- In the subsequent fall of mankind through Adam and the condemnation brought upon all mankind.
- In the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and His conception by the Holy Spirit.
- In the sinless life of Jesus, though tempted in all points such as we.
- In the miracles performed by Jesus Christ.
- In Christ's suffering under Pontius Pilate and His subsequent crucifixion, death and burial.
- In Christ's descension into hell where he won the keys to hell and death.
- In the atonement provided by the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of sins that are past.
- In the bodily resurrection of Jesus on the third day and His ascension to heaven to sit by the right hand of the Father where he ever lives to make intercession.
- In water baptism - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a good conscience toward God.
- In the promise of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, by whom all Christians are sealed and filled.
- In salvation by grace through faith upon confession of the Lord Jesus and faith evidenced by works.
- In the baptism of the Holy Spirit evidenced by the speaking in tongues.
- In the gifts if the Spirit divided severally as He wills.
- In the holy, universal church and communion of the saints.
- In the equality of humanity (red and yellow, black and white) and the intrinsic dignity implied by creation and redemption.
- In the laying on of hands.
- In the five-fold ministry.
- In the church leadership by the elders and bishop.
- In the suffering of the saints.
- In the holy estate of marriage between one man and one woman.
- To be absent from the flesh, to be present with the Lord.
- In the bodily resurection of the saints.
- In the pre-millenial, literal second coming of Christ to judge and reward the righteous and to establish His earthly kingdom.
- In the judgment of the wicked who have willfully rejected Christ to eternal separation and torment in the lake of fire.
- In the everlasting life in Christ's eternal kingdom.
This list is by no means comprehensive, but is, rather, fundamental in nature and foundational to an understanding of scripture and God's plan for humanity.
